The At-Risk Services team at Region 13 helps school districts implement evidence-based programs to address mental health, substance abuse, suicide prevention, and promote positive youth development. We provide resources, workshops, and networks designed to help your struggling students improve their quality of life.
At-Risk Criteria includes students who are:
Not making adequate academic progress as indicated by assessment instruments, grades, or retention
Pregnant or parenting
Place in a DAEP/AEP or expelled
Involved with Juvenile Justice System
Identified as previously dropped out
Of limited English proficiency
In the custody or care of the Department of Protective and Regulatory Services, or have been referred to the department
Residing in a residential placement facility, substance abuse facility, emergency shelter, psychiatric hospital, halfway house, or foster group home
Districts/charter schools may contract with Region 13's At-Risk Specialist for consultation, technical assistance, and/or on-site training related to students who are identified as being at-risk of dropping out of school.
