Collaborative Leadership - 6 Influences that Matter Most with Dr. Peter DeWitt

Tue, Mar 6, 2018 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Peter DeWitt (Ed.D) is a former K-5 teacher of 11 years, and principal for 8 years, who for the past 2 years has served as an accomplished consultant in the US, Canada, and Australia. He has worked with several large Texas school districts to build collaborative leadership and collective teacher efficacy.
He offers leaders in this presentation practical high impact strategies to improve school climate, expand teacher involvement in student learning to increase student engagement, and involve a broader family network. With a focus on community stakeholders and research-based practices, participants will be given tools such as:

  1. A leadership growth cycle to help leaders build their self-efficacy
  2. A teacher observation cycle centered on building collective efficacy to support the T-Tess Dimensions
  3. An early warning system to identify potential at risk students
  4. Action steps following each chapter to apply to your own setting
  5. Discussion questions for use in team environments

Establishing a supportive and inclusive school climate where professionals can take risks to improve the lives of students is vital to maximize learning in any school community.

Participants will receive a copy of School Climate: Leading with Collective Efficacy (Corwin Press, 2017). Register before January 6th and receive 20% off the workshop cost by using discount code EARLYBIRD.
