In order to complete the on-line application, what will I need to have available?
You will need your education history, certification/licenses (if required), work history information, references including reference contact information, a cover letter and resume in Word or PDF format.

Do I have to upload a cover letter/letter of interest and resume with my application?
Yes. To be considered for employment at Region 13, applicants must complete an online application with a cover letter and resume attached.

May I submit a cover letter/letter of interest and resume only?
No. All applicants must submit an online application to be considered for employment. Please upload your cover letter/letter of interest and resume when completing your online application.

Are transcripts required?
If an interview is scheduled and a degree and/or certification is required for the position, it would be wise to bring college transcripts, certifications, and other supporting documentation. If employed, copies of your transcripts and/or certifications are required.

After submitting my application, will I hear from Region 13?
Should you be selected for an interview, you will be contacted by Region 13 staff. If you are not contacted, you may assume your application is no longer being considered.

Must I create an account before I can search for a job?
No. You can search for jobs without registering or creating an account. If you decide to apply for a job, you must create an account and apply for the position.

May I apply for more than one position at a time?
Yes. You will be prompted to select the vacancies you are interested in during step three (Vacancy Desired) of the application process.

Are all applicants interviewed?
No. Hiring managers review applications and interview those who best match the requirements of the position.

I do not qualify for any positions you currently have posted. May I submit an application now for future job openings?
Yes. If you are interested in future openings, you may select positions you are interested in during step four (Position Desired) of the application process.

If hired, what documents should I bring to new hire orientation?
A new employee orientation will be scheduled. Region 13 will need documents that establish evidence of identity and employment eligibility (e.g., Driver’s License, Social Security Card). Other documents required are completion of a criminal history check, and if your job description requires a degree or certification, transcripts and certification and a voided check or personal deposit slip. Should you have your original service record, they are to be brought to HR. Or, your previous school district should mail your service record to ESC Region 13, 5701 Springdale Rd., Austin, TX 78723.

Is Region 13 off on all school holidays?
Region 13 schedules holidays in accordance with the majority of school districts we serve; however, not all schedules are identical.

Is this a year round position or will I be on break for the summer?
Work schedules vary depending upon the position. There are full-time ten (10) month and (12) twelve month positions as well as part-time positions. If the position you are interested is not a full-time twelve (12) month position, it will be indicated on the job posting.

Does Region 13 offer health care?
Yes. Region 13 contributes “Employee Only” premium for eligible employees. Visit the Benefits page for a complete listing of employee benefits and other employee perks at Region 13.

Is dental coverage offered with the health care?
Region 13 offers dental insurance under a separate carrier.

Does Region 13 offer any other benefits?
Yes. Region 13 offers flexible spending account for medical reimbursement and dependent care, disability coverage, group life insurance, vision insurance, long term care insurance and optional membership in a sick leave bank. Visit the Benefits page for more information.

How much leave does an employee earn?
Full-time employees earn five (5) state personal days, five (5) local personal days, and twelve (12) vacation days each fiscal year. Part time employees accrue leave at the rate of percentage of employment.

Does Region 13 provide tuition reimbursement?
No. Region 13 does not provide tuition reimbursement. However, because of the nature of our business, a variety of training options are available.
