TGIF! Box Cars and One-Eyed Jacks Upper Elementary Math Games Grades 3-5

Are you looking for engaging and effective ways to help your upper elementary students gain confidence and competence with key math concepts?  Come prepared to play math games that incorporate the use of cards, dice, multi-sided dice, number lines, shaker and fraction manipulatives.

Concepts covered include: understanding place values system including whole numbers and decimals, fractions, decimals and percent including operations with fractions, numbers and operations in base ten,multi-digit operations, fact fluency, intervention - basic facts, data management.

Throughout the workshop participants will have the opportunity to play each game, learn how to differentiate the activities, how to develop journal extensions, maximize math talk, and how to use the games for assessment purposes.  Interspersed throughout will be practical ideas for classroom organization, management ideas and more.  Participants will be able to implement what they learn the next day in their classrooms.
