Library at ESC Region 13

In serving our clients here at ESC Region 13, many of our departments collected books and materials to loan.  Each collection was separately maintained and a client had to search each department’s individual collection (if it was available online) and request items from each individual collection. In an effort to better serve our clients and streamline our systems, we began the work of consolidating all of our various collections into one online library system. Our library can be accessed at this location: Library at ESC Region 13 (

To access the library, you must have a patron account, please fill out the Library Application form to gain access. We will create a patron account for you and email you your user name and password.

  • Your primary address is the location where you’d like us to send your materials.  It can be a home address or a school address. Please note that we do not send items to schools during the summer.  We will send items to a patron’s home address at any time during the year.

Accessing the Library

  • Follow the link to the library’s welcome page: Library at ESC Region 13 Welcome Page:
  • Please do not use the District User’s login at the top of this splash page. Your username and password will not work in this location.
  • In the center of the Welcome page you will see ESC13 Libraries.  Use the link in the words “ESC Region 13” to access the library catalog.
  • Use the Login button at the top left of the catalog page to access the login screen. Enter your user name and password and then press the “Login” button.
  • Although there is a “create new account” tab here, patrons cannot create accounts through this system.
  • After logging in, you will be directed back to the catalog page. You will note that you now have a My Info tab as well as a Catalog tab. This tab provides information on your account.  You can always check this to see what items have been checked out to you.
  • From the Catalog tab, you can begin your search. As with other searchable systems, a list of items is returned. If one of these items appeals to you click on its title. This will bring you to the item’s detail page. If this is the item you’d like to check out, look for the “Hold It!” button to the left of the screen. Click it!
  • You will be directed to a “Requesting” screen. Your material title should appear with a drop down box that says “As soon as possible”. Don’t change this. Press the “Save” button.
  • You will be redirected back to that material’s title detail screen. A note at the top of the page should read “Hold requested for [the title of your material]”. A copy of “[title]” is now available. Please pick it up before …”
  • You have now put a book on hold.  This is all that you need to do. Library administrators are automatically flagged once you have made your request.
  • Depending on the collection, you may not have to pick up your material from the library.  A library administrator will contact you to let you know, how you will receive the materials you have requested.
