The Texas Education Code (TEC) states that paraprofessionals are required to have certification training authorized and recognized by Texas Administrative Code (TAC), Title 19, Chapter 230.  This includes obtaining a standard certificate issued by the State Board of Educator Certification (SBEC).  Region 13’s Paraprofessional Program provides the training and a highly qualified certificate.  Once hired by a school, this Region 13 HQ certificate can be given to the administration who will submit your certificate of HQ to SBEC to obtain the standard paraprofessional certificate.
Education Service Center Region 13 will set the standard for excellence in educational service through leadership responsiveness to client needs and quality products that improve student performance.
